Spirulina and COVID-19

In Israel, the Ministry of Economy and the Israeli Innovation Authority (IIA) officially recognized the potential of spirulina as an immune system booster and anti-viral agent in the fight against COVID-19. They requested additional research to be done into the effect of spirulina as a dietary supplement to prevent COVID-19. An Israeli spirulina company received grants to conduct tests on high-risk groups and effectively infected COVID-19 patients.
