Why sprinkles?
Sprinkles are the most natural form of spirulina. They do not undergo any form of industrial processing such as powders or tablets.
Spirulina is one of the food supplements that - with good reason - can be called a superfood. Per gram, spirulina is an extremely nutritious food. For example, 'the green gold' is rich in proteins, it contains many vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids and antioxidants. Impressive, for a plant-based food.

How to use sprinkles?
Tips & tricksEcological & sustainable
The cultivation of spirulina requires less water and less valuable land than producing other protein sources (e.g. meat, milk ...). We do not use pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Our green friends grow at their own natural rhythm. There is no production waste and they convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. Nice bonus, right?
In addition, our sprinkles are fair trade and provide work to our Ghanaian colleagues in a region where very few jobs are available.

Our goal is to deliver the purest spirulina of the very best quality. Our sprinkles are grown with care and dedication on our farm in Ghana. We work in an artisanal way with care for people and nature. We don't cut corners.
Tested for quality
Spirulina grows in a high alkaline environment with very high PH values, in which almost nothing else can grow. This makes the chance of contamination with other bacteria very small.
The only exception? Microcystin, a substance that can survive in this type of environment. Fortunately, our basins are completely shielded, which means that contamination with microcystin is virtually zero. Testing for this is part of our QC procedure.

Extra pure
If spirulina is grown in a polluted environment, it can absorb heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic. That is why our farm is far away from civilization. The water that we use in our basins is additionally purified.
Like all other foods, spirulina is tested by independent laboratories for any possible contamination
Spirulina is not recommended for certain groups
People with autoimmune diseases. Due to the strengthening effect on the immune system, this can increase complaints in these patients. The use of spirulina is therefore not recommended for people with MS, SLE or pemphigus vulgaris.
Phenylketonuria (a rare and hereditary metabolic disease) patients are not recommended to use spirulina.
