It seems that everyone is enthusiastic about spirulina. No wonder, spirulina belongs to the select group of 'superfoods' containing antioxidants and micronutrients. 

Let's face it, spirulina has an acquired taste. It does indeed have a fairly distinct flavour which you learn to appreciate.  It is difficult to compare it with anything else and therefore not easy to describe. Once you feel the health benefits of spirulina you will realize the importance of using it every day!

Fortunately, there are many bite-sized recipes and ideas incorporate the spirulina sprinkles into your daily diet.

Sprinkles Chia pudding

Give your day a super boost with this pudding! This breakfast is packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 (small) avocado
  • 200 ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 spoon ALGO-RITME spirulina sprinkles

Garnish: sunflower seeds, blueberries, grated coconut or bananas

Preparation: 

  • Cut the banana and avocado into wedges.
  • Put the almond milk in the blender with the banana, avocado and the spirulina sprinkles.
  • Put in a bowl and add the chia seeds.
  • Place the dish in the fridge for half an hour.

 

You can use toppings like sunflower seeds, blueberries, grated coconut or banana wedges


Crunchy salad dressing

The best dressing for your salads? You can easily just make it yourself! Add additional ingredients to your taste, such as grated lemon zest or garlic powder. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ALGO-RITME spirulina sprinkles
  • lemon juice

 

Preparation:

Put the ingredients in a bowl and mix well with a spoon. Then pour it over your salad. Ready! The advantage of this dressing is that it makes your salad a bit crunchy.

 


Tropical fruit bowl with sprinkles

Hmmm… There is nothing more refreshing than a tropical smoothie! Super healthy and mega tasty for lunch, afternoon snack or whenever you feel like it. You can actually add spirulina to almost any green smoothie. So experiment for yourself with the fruits you like! 

 

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of fresh leaf spinach
  • 100 grams of frozen pineapple pieces
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 125 ml coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon of almond paste
  • 1 tablespoon of baobab powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ALGO-RITME spirulina sprinkles
  • Ice cubes

 

Preparation:

  • Put the spinach with the coconut water in the blender and mix
  • Add the other ingredients and blend until homogeneous 
  • Finally add the ice cubes and mix in the blender
  • Serve this smoothie in a bowl
